Its principal settlements are:
- Taylors Falls, which abuts the St. Croix River which separates Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- North Branch
- Chisago City, a northern suburb of the Twin Cities in the Chisago Lakes area, comprising Lindstrom and Center City.

Best things about Chisago County
Folsom House
The former home of lumber baron W.H.C. Folsom in the Angel Hill historic district. Built in 1855.
Franconia Sculpture Park
50-acre outdoor sculpture park.
Wild Mountain
Ski area and tubing hill. In summer, it has a small waterpark, alpine slide (you control the speed of your sled), free fall (jumping from a 2-story tower), and go carts.
Interstate State Park
This Minnesota state park and a Wisconsin state park of the same name straddle the Dalles of the St. Croix River.
North Branch Golf Course
18-hole golf course.

Understand
Chisago County lies on Minnesota's eastern border, abutting the western border of Wisconsin (across the Saint Croix River). The Saint Croix flows south-southeast along the county's eastern border. The Sunrise River flows north through the county's central part, collecting the waters of the North Branch Sunrise River and Hay Creek before discharging into the St. Croix at the county's eastern boundary. The county terrain consists of rolling hills, devoted to agriculture.
Chisago County is strongly influenced by the German, Swedish and Norwegian immigrants who settled there in the mid-19th century.
