Do
Buy
Libertyville is well-known for car shopping; many Chicagolanders who know nothing else about the town can tell you that it's "a beautiful place in the country," thanks to a car dealer's long-running jingle. The car dealerships are found in a long strip along Milwaukee Avenue.
Eat
Eat Mickey Finn's
Long-running brew pub; a local hangout.
Eat Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe
Popular brunch spot.
Drink
Drink Downing's
Neighborhood bar with a youngish crowd; the owners are siblings who bought the place with the proceeds from a winning lottery ticket.
Drink Hansa Coffee Roasters
Right across the tracks from the train station, a repurposed auto shop serving good coffee. Usually has interesting seasonal drinks. On nice days, the garage doors will be opened, filling the shop with fresh air.
