Overview
Paris is the seat of Logan County in the Ouachitas region of Arkansas. While possibly a little provincial and unremarkable in itself, it is a good staging point for visiting the Ouachita Mountains, particularly the tallest point in Arkansas, Mt. Magazine.

Best things about Paris
Mount Magazine State Park
Here feel the liberation as you ascend to Arkansas' highest point at 2753 feet, or try one of a number of hiking or biking trails or maybe even hang glide. Also be on the lookout for fauna such as bobcat, black bear, or …
Eiffel Tower Park-Paris
In line with the town's namesake of Paris, France, a replica of the Eiffel Tower stands here in the downtown sector, though definitely not as tall as the real thing or even the replica in Paris, Tennessee.
Logan County "Old Jail" Museum
Here is a local museum that is distinctive in being located in the city's jail and even more so that it has the town's former gallows on display.
Cove Lake Recreation Area
Opportunities for boating and swimming.
Mt. Magazine Scenic Byway
This highway, AR 309, is a nice Ouachita driving sampler, extending from Paris to Havana (the Arkansas municipalities, not the world capitals, mind you!).
