Overview
Wadesboro is a town in North Carolina. Named after Colonel Thomas Wade who co-founded the municipality, it is a down on its luck textile mill town, but it has an intriguing wildlife refuge. Probably what sets Wadesboro apart more than anything though is that it was used for the set of "The Color Purple", in addition to "Evil Dead 2".

Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge
Visit turtles and things and stroll along extensive boardwalks on and around the Pee Dee River.
Anson County Historical Society
This little museum is housed in the oldest home in Wadesboro, the Boggan-Hammond House, which was built by Wade's cofounding partner Colonel Patrick Boggan for his daughter, who later became a Hammond.
