Occoquan
A small historic town on the Occoquan River. A lovely day trip, with restaurants, shops, and a lovely view of the river.
Julie J. Metz Neabsco Creek Wetlands Preserve
Walk along a chip-surfaced trail through a marsh. There are many waterfowl here to see, particularly in winter. During the summer, look at the many songbirds.

Eat
Woodbridge is home to one of the D.C. area's only two Chicano communities and is a great place to get some Mexican food.
Eat Dixie Bones
The best restaurant in Woodbridge. Their barbecue meats are absolutely the best, and their sides are excellent too. Make sure you go hungry.
Eat Arepas Capitol
Venezuelan cafe.
Eat Bistro L'Hermitage
French restaurant. Dress up and splurge!
Eat Layla's Lebanese Restaurant
Chicken shwarma, kibbe, chicken kabob, and other tasty Lebanese food.
Eat Ricos Tacos Moya
Disproportionately Mexican clientele and only one server who really speaks English (the daughter), and some incredible food. Highlights are the tacos themselves and the menudo, which is not available every day. They also serve the rare-to-D.C. micheladas—beer with spices, salt rim, and often tabasco sauce and clam juice (clamada). They're a lot of fun.
Eat Taquizas Virginia
Authentic Mexican street tacos.
